Today my son Connor & his buddy Garrett held a bake & gift sale to raise money for 2 organizations they felt passionate about supporting. Free the Children & World Wild Life.
Last night the boys made giant homemade cookies & rice crispy squares for the event. They also had a table of samples I gave them from the studio. The boys sent out emails and text messages to let their friends and neighbours know all about their fund raising efforts.
After 2 hours, they had raised over $300 towards their charities. Connor & Garret informed their visitors about each organization, especially other kids...hoping to "pay it forward" and keep the fund raising efforts going. Our neighbour Miller, who is 5 years old proceeded to set up his own table on his driveway to sell toys. As soon as he had a sale, he marched right down to the boys and placed the money in their charity box.
Participating in the WE DAY event in Toronto last week & in class has truly inspired the boys! Making them realized that any positive action they can do "big or small" can make a difference in our world!
We'd like to THANK all of our wonderful friends, neighbours and school friends for coming today and supporting the boys! It's absolutely TRUE, that every step big or small CAN make a difference!
We are so proud of you Connor & Garrett! Keep up the great work!
