CGTA Show Signing

Thank you Vera and Joyce from Board'n Batten for having me on Sunday. I enjoyed signing my angels and meeting all the wonderfully devoted retailers of the Blossom Bucket product line. It was so much fun!
The show was very busy and everyone I spoke to had postive feedback and orders were up from last year!
Keep Smiling!

Connor has always loved ROBOTS! So he and I doodled them all the time. These pieces were inspired by a couple of Connor's little doodles.
I had a ton of fun working on them!
Cheers, Robin

Anticipating Coraline

My son Connor and I are really looking forward to seeing the movie "Coraline" by director Henry Selick famous for his work on The Nightmare before Christmas.
I've always loved anything 3D stop-motion animated. I think it began when I watched "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as a child. I remember intensely looking at every little detail, trying to figure out how they did that!
I've also always been a long time fan of Jim Henson and The Henson Company. I still have the original Life magazine with Kermit on the front, when Jim died May, 1990.
The talented animators, artisans and puppet fabricators create images on screen that are truly entertaining and inspiring!
One day I'd love to have my funny little kids characters brought to life by either of these companies.
Ya never know what's around the corner!
Go see the movie on Feb 6th and soak in everything on the screen. Look at all the little details, all created by hand!
This photo is a Coraline puppet encased in glass on display on Portland.

A day to remember!!

Today I plan on watching CNN as I sit at my studio table and paint. What a day to remember! There's no doubt that the world is tuned in to see Barack Obama's inauguration. Today brings HOPE for us all!
This image by graffiti artist Shepard Fairey is definately one of my favorites!
Barack has inspired many artists to paint, sing, dance, draw, write and create!
It's a NEW day! Embrace it!

Back from the Atlanta Show

What a show! I had so much fun in Atlanta. I ran around meeting all the fantastic companies that I paint for. Checked out my new 09 products and met my wonderfully creative friends like Dan DiPaolo and Elizabeth Tipton.
Would you believe I stayed on the 62nd floor of the Westin downtown. My ears popped everytime I rode the elevator. The show was very busy. Lots of action and excitement, which was great to see! I enjoyed my signing at Blossom Bucket on Sunday. So nice to meet customers that get so excited about your characters and designs. I also met Suzi Skoglund and Barbara Lloyd, both amazing Blossom Bucket artists.
The crew at Evergreen Enterprises were a real "hoot" and I can't wait to see all the incredible products and ideas they have in store for 2010!
Gotta run, tons of deadlines to meet!
Keep Smiling!

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone; Happy New Year! I'm so excited about 2009! I'm determined not to let the news media bring me down. It's time to just be thankful and I am!
I've just finished getting my portfolio ready for Atlanta. I fly out on Friday. I can't wait to see all my wonderful new products for 2009!
It may be uncertain times for those of us in the licensing world. Lots going on in the industry. But I find it only brings out the best work! Paint and create what you love and cherish! Stay positive and keep smiling!

For my fellow artists traveling to the Atlanta AmericasMart Gift Show, come visit me at my Blossom Bucket Signing on Sunday Jan 11th at 11am! (Building 2, 701A)

Have fun!
